Job summary

JAC Recruitment is seeking a QA Specialist in El Monte, CA to support food safety, QA programs, and regulatory compliance across the organization. You will work with suppliers, regulatory agencies, and internal teams to maintain labeling accuracy and audit readiness.

The role requires a strong background in HACCP/GMP, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration, with responsibilities spanning inspections, labels, training, and corrective actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or related field preferred.
• Business-level English required; Japanese preferred by the employer.
• 3+ years in food safety, QA, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement HACCP, GMP, sanitation and allergen controls.
• Conduct food safety audits and supplier inspections; close out corrective actions.
• Maintain QA documentation: specs, COAs, lab results, audit certificates.
• Review labels and ingredients for US federal/state compliance.
• Research FDA/USDA/state regulatory requirements.
• Investigate customer quality complaints and implement CAPAs.
• Maintain and improve QA systems, SOPs and procedures across branches.
• Coordinate with FDA/USDA and local health departments during inspections.
• Provide QA and food safety training to employees.
• Support warehouse sanitation and pest control programs.
• Conduct lab testing for safety and quality verification.
• Collaborate with suppliers, sales, and internal teams; travel as needed.
