Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years in inspection or quality control with QA/QMS experience.
  • Able to read and interpret complex mechanical drawings (ASME Y14.5).
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis and process controls.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect parts and processes per documented procedures and drawings.
  • Verify conformance using precision inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, height gages).
  • Perform cosmetic inspections and related quality tasks.
  • Lead internal audits and support external audits and certifications.
  • Drive corrective actions and continuous improvement activities.

Position Summary

As the QA Specialist, you will perform inspections, quality systems audits and process audits. You will participate in corrective action and continuous improvements teams, to efficiently and effectively support manufacturing, engineering and operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work in accordance with process procedures, work order instructions, drawings and other production documents.
  • Verify part or process conformation to specification to ensure quality production using approved inspection tools, such as calipers, micrometers, height gages, pin gages and comparators.
  • Perform detailed work including cosmetic inspection of parts and other similar functions.
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders, including other departments, to solve problems.
  • Use appropriate structured approach for problem solving and improvement projects.
  • Update, create and administer controlled documents and quality systems.
  • Lead internal audits and participate in external audits.
  • Maintain certifications as required for responsibilities.
  • Lead corrective action efforts related to the QMS
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience in an inspection environment or quality control environment, including quality assurance and/or quality systems. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting complex mechanical drawings.
  • Proficient in of Geo Dimensional Tolerancing (GDT) ASME Y14.5.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting internal or customer specifications and standards.
  • Knowledge of inspection methods.
  • Proficient in use of inspection equipment: Micrometers, height gages, test/dial indicators, calipers, profilometers, gage blocks, pin gages, feeler gages, optical comparators, microscopes, go/no go gages.
  • Familiar with set-up and operation of coordinate measuring machines (CMMs).
  • Proficient in basic mathematical applications; addition, subtraction, multiplication, division.
  • Proficiency in Office365 and able to learn and use new software tools.
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis and process controls.
  • Intermediate knowledge of quality assurance, including 6S or 5S+.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.

  • Associate's degree or certification in Quality
