Qualifications

  • Current CWI certification required.
  • Experience in welding/fabrication QA/QC.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and welding symbols.
  • Knowledge of welding codes and industry standards.
  • Strong documentation and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to work with field and shop personnel.
  • Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections of welding and fabrication work to ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings, codes, and quality requirements.
  • Review welds, fit-up, materials, dimensions, and fabrication processes.
  • Verify welding procedures, welder qualifications, and required documentation.
  • Perform visual inspections and coordinate required non-destructive testing (NDT).
  • Review material certifications, inspection reports, and quality documentation.
  • Maintain accurate QA/QC records and inspection documentation.
  • Identify, document, and communicate quality issues and non-conformances.
  • Work closely with welders, fabricators, supervisors, project managers, and customers to resolve quality concerns.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, welding symbols, specifications, and applicable codes.
  • Ensure work is completed in accordance with applicable ASME, AWS, API, and project-specific requirements.
  • Assist with preparation and maintenance of Quality Control Plans, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), weld maps, and turnover packages.
  • Conduct inspections throughout the fabrication process and at final completion.
  • Support internal and customer inspections as needed.
  • Promote a strong culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Current Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification required.
  • Previous QA/QC experience in welding, fabrication, manufacturing, or industrial construction.
  • Strong understanding of welding processes, inspection methods, and fabrication practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and welding symbols.
  • Knowledge of applicable welding codes and industry standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with field and shop personnel.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard documentation systems.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with ASME Section IX, AWS D1.1, and/or other applicable industry codes.
  • Experience working in a structural, piping, pressure vessel, or industrial fabrication environment.
  • NDT experience or additional inspection certifications.
  • Experience with customer or third-party inspections.
  • Experience developing or maintaining QA/QC documentation and turnover packages.
