Job summary

Graywolf Integrated Construction Company in Centertown, KY is seeking a traveling QA/QC CWI to perform quality inspections across welding, valves, piping, and mechanical equipment on industrial projects.

The role requires CWI certification, 4 years of heavy industrial project experience, knowledge of WPS/PQR/WPQ, and ability to read codes such as ASME B&PV, NBIC, API, AWS. Travel is required.

Qualifications

• Four years of formal training and experience in heavy industrial projects.
• CWI certification required.
• Experience with WPSs, PQRs, and WPQs.
• Effective interaction with project team, clients, subcontractors and craft workers.
• Possess or be able to obtain inspection licenses/certifications as required.
• Proficient in English communication and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality inspections on welding, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, boilers, piping, mechanical equipment, painting and coatings, structural steel and fabricated materials.
• Interpret codes and standards such as ASME B&PV, ASME B31.1 and B31.3, NBIC, API, AWS, ACI, AISC, RCSC.
• Schedule and oversee testing activities and ensure turnover documents are complete and filed.
• Provide periodic Quality Program training and coaching for site supervision.
• Maintain quality records and calibration documentation; manage daily QA/QC tasks.

The QA/QC Inspector role providesqualityinspectionsregardingweldingandwelder'scertifications,pressurevessels,heat exchangers and boilers, piping, mechanical equipment, painting and coatings, structural steel and fabricated materials.

• Experience or working of the following codes; ASME B&​P​V, ASME B31.1 and B31.3, NBIC,API, AWS, ACI, AISC, RCSC and others as determined by job requirements. Ability to read and interpret various codes, standards and specifications.
• Familiarity, experience, or previous training and certification in Liquid Penetrant testing, Magnetic Particle testing, Ultrasonic testing, and radiography. Inspector has responsibility for the performance and scheduling of all inspection and testing activities as defined by contract. Willingness to attend training and acquire additional training and certifications as required.
• Assesssub-contractors'capabilitiestomeetthequalityrequirementsoftheprojectasrequired.
• Assurethatthecontractobligations'fortestingandrecordkeepingareadheredto.
• Controlcalibratedmeasuringandtestequipmentusedontheproject.
• Keepcalibrationrecordsandensurethatalltestingequipmenthascurrentcalibrationrecords.
• Ensureproperturnoverofcompletequalitycontrolpackage(s).Responsibleforensuringthatturnoverdocumentationismaintained,organizedandturnedoveronschedule and scanned into the database.
• Maintain project quality records for the construction phase of the project and quality audit plans, performance and management thereof.

Qualifications:

• CWI required.
• Experience in understanding WPSs, PQRs, and WPQs
• Ability to effectively interact with project team members, clients, subcontractors and craft employees.
• Mustbecapableofobtainingorpossessinspectionlicensesand/orcertificationsasrequired.
• Read, write and communicate using English language sufficient to perform job functions as required by client and/or facility policy
• Must be able to communicate and document via company web mail programs
• Must be able to successfully complete all required pre-hire requirements.

Physical/Site Requirements:

• Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 45 pounds.
• Move in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven areas. Full range of motion and flexibility consistent withage.
• Work up to a 12-hour shift in varying temperature extremes and other outsideconditions.
• Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders, andscaffolds.
