Job summary

Graywolf Integrated Construction in Iva, SC is seeking a traveling QA/QC CWI to perform quality inspections on welding, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, piping and boilers at project sites nationwide. The role requires a current CWI, four years of heavy industrial project experience, and the ability to read codes and standards, coordinate with project teams, subcontractors and craft personnel.

Qualifications

• Four (4) years of formal training and experience in heavy industrial projects such as refineries, petro-chemical complexes, power plants.
• Current CWI required.
• Experience in understanding WPSs, PQRs, and WPQs.
• Ability to interact effectively with project team members, clients, subcontractors and craft employees.
• Must be capable of obtaining or possess inspection licenses and/or certifications as required.
• Read, write and communicate using English language sufficient to perform job functions as required by client and/or facility policy.
• Must be able to communicate and document via company web mail programs.
• Must be able to successfully complete all required pre-hire requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality inspections of welding, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, piping, mechanical equipment, coatings, and structural steel.
• Read and interpret codes, standards and specifications.
• Schedule and manage inspection and testing activities.
• Maintain calibration records and ensure test equipment calibration.
• Ensure turnover of complete quality control packages and documentation is maintained and scanned.
• Maintain project quality records and quality audit plans.
• Evaluate sub-contractors' facilities for meeting quality requirements.
• Provide Quality Program training and coaching for site supervision.
• All other duties as normally required by QA/QC Department.

The QA/QC Inspector role providesqualityinspectionsregardingweldingandwelder'scertifications,pressurevessels,heat exchangers and boilers, piping, mechanical equipment, painting and coatings, structural steel and fabricated materials.

• Experience or working of the following codes; ASME B&PV, ASME B31.1 and B31.3, NBIC,API, AWS, ACI, AISC, RCSC and others as determined by job requirements. Ability to read and interpret various codes, standards and specifications.
• Familiarity, experience, or previous training and certification in Liquid Penetrant testing, Magnetic Particle testing, Ultrasonic testing, and radiography. Inspector has responsibility for the performance and scheduling of all inspection and testing activities as defined by contract. Willingness to attend training and acquire additional training and certifications as required.
• Assesssub-contractors'capabilitiestomeetthequalityrequirementsoftheprojectasrequired.
• Assurethatthecontractobligations'fortestingandrecordkeepingareadheredto.
• Controlcalibratedmeasuringandtestequipmentusedontheproject.
• Keepcalibrationrecordsandensurethatalltestingequipmenthascurrentcalibrationrecords.
• Ensureproperturnoverofcompletequalitycontrolpackage(s).Responsibleforensuringthatturnoverdocumentationismaintained,organizedandturnedoveronschedule and scanned into the database.
• Maintain project quality records for the construction phase of the project and quality audit plans, performance and management thereof.
• Performevaluationsofsub-contractors'facilitiestodeterminetheircapabilitiesinmeetingthequalityrequirements.
• ConductperiodicQualityProgram training and coaching forsitesupervisorypersonnel.
• All other duties as normally required by our QA/QC Department, and as required by day-to-day business

Qualifications:

Physical/Site Requirements:

• Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 45 pounds.
• Move in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven areas. Full range of motion and flexibility consistent withage.
• Work up to a 12-hour shift in varying temperature extremes and other outsideconditions.
• Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders, andscaffolds.
