ARCO/Murray National Construction is hiring a QA/QC Engineer to support testing, startup, setup, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems on design/build projects. The role requires 2–5 years of relevant experience and close collaboration with project teams, vendors, and senior staff to ensure safe, functional, and reliable mechanical systems.

You will verify equipment readiness, assist with pre-startup reviews, and participate in vendor startups for chillers and pumps, among others.

Qualifications

• Ability to travel to project sites as needed.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, mechanical engineering tech., Construction Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent education considered.
• 2–5 years of experience in mechanical systems operations, startup, commissioning support, service, troubleshooting, construction, or building operations.

Responsibilities

• Support startup, setup, testing, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems and associated controls.
• Assist with pre-startup readiness reviews to verify equipment installation, piping completion, controls integration, labeling, and system readiness.
• Participate in vendor startup activities for chillers, pumps, cooling towers, AHUs, CRAHs, CRACs, and related equipment.
• Help execute pre-functional checklists, startup forms, and functional test procedures for mechanical systems.
• Verify systems operate per design intent and project specs.
• Observe and document system performance including temperatures, pressures, and flows.
• Coordinate with BAS and controls teams to verify point functionality and sequences.
• Document deficiencies and corrective actions clearly.
