Job summary

Utica National Insurance Group invites a seasoned Claims Quality professional to join our team in a hybrid role based in Charlotte-Ballantyne, NC, with options in Woodbury, NY or New Hartford, NY. You will conduct quality assurance reviews across Commercial General Liability and Errors & Omissions lines, and share findings with leadership.

The ideal candidate has 4–8 years in claims, strong liability knowledge, and hands-on training and leadership experience.

Qualifications

• 4-year college degree preferred.
• 4-8 years' claims experience, demonstrating expertise in underlying coverages, broad background in litigated matters and development.
• Strong background in General Liability; background in E&O preferred.
• People and project leadership experience preferred.
• Solid understanding and experience with Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Ensures timely completion of assigned file reviews, calibration sessions and analysis reports to leadership.
• Applies advanced knowledge of the claims process, policies & procedures, systems, coverage, liability, damage estimating, and/or settlement and adherence to applicable legal and regulatory compliance standards when conducting file reviews.
• Identifies claim handling trends by applying advanced industry knowledge to discipline practices to produce recommendations for improvement opportunities.
• Effectively communicates observations to all levels of leadership and provides substantiate feedback and coaching to associates. Work closely with the Director of Field Claim Operations, line of business Directors and regional leadership to ensure compliance with claim handling, practices and procedures.
• Provide training and support to the Claims field leadership and frontline Claims staff.
• Performs other tasks as assigned by the Director of Claims Quality and Strategy.
