Job summary

Progress Rail is seeking a QA Inspector in Kansas City, MO to inspect finished and in-process parts per AAR and customer specs. You will document defects, work with QWI and travelers, and perform internal audits while coordinating with production teams to ensure quality and safety.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma or GED and 1–2 years of QA experience or technical certifications; lead trainer capability and knowledge of gage calibration are highly valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years of QA experience or technical certifications.
• Ability to read visual inspection criteria, blueprints and gauges.
• Lead trainer experience for new employees preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge of proper gage calibration and color code.
• Conduct product inspection, inbound & outbound, documentation of defects.
• Work with Traveler’s and Quality Work Instructions (QWI’s).
• Demonstrate knowledge of AAR requirements.
• Read and understand blueprints and gauges for inspection.
• Conduct audits & inspections for assembly and manufacturing functions.
• Mentor QA Inspector II/III and ensure final quality inspection.
