Job summary

Kearfott Corporation in Black Mountain, NC is seeking a QA Engineering Tech I to support advanced inspection and metrology across multiple quality areas. Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, specifications, tolerances, and GD&T requirements.
• Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible quality inspection, metrology, calibration, manufacturing quality, or related technical experience.
• Proficiency with manual inspection equipment and at least one advanced specialty such as automated/vision inspection, CMM, gage calibration/metrology, FAI, or customer/source inspection coordination and technical liaison support.
• Experience using Microsoft Office tools and applicable ERP/QMS systems.
• Ability to work independently, make timely quality decisions, troubleshoot technical problems, and train or mentor others.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced inspection, test, and measurement activities across multiple Quality areas.
• Support complex or urgent work in multiple inspection areas with limited supervision.
• Use manual and automated inspection equipment and develop or improve methods using CMM, optical/vision, or similar tech.
• Support first article, first piece, sample, final, and special inspections interpreting drawings and GD&T.
• Support gage control, calibration, and equipment troubleshooting for measurement readiness.
• Identify bottlenecks and opportunities to improve quality, cycle time, and inspection efficiency.
• Collaborate with Quality Engineering, Operations, and other departments to investigate nonconformities and support root cause/corrective action.
• Mentor and cross-train inspectors and contribute to team capability improvements.
