Job description

At Gateway.fm, we’re building the future of decentralized infrastructure. As a leader in Web3, we develop scalable blockchain solutions supporting Ethereum scaling technologies like zkEVM and optimistic rollups. Our infrastructure secures over $1 billion in digital assets and empowers institutional clients to stake in a non-custodial and scalable way.

We're also the team behind Stakeway, a high-performance platform transforming the staking ecosystem. With a globally distributed and mission-driven team, we’re united by a shared vision: unlocking the full potential of decentralized technologies.

The Role

We’re looking for a QA Engineer to join our core engineering team and help ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of our blockchain infrastructure. You’ll play a key role in designing, executing, and automating tests for blockchain nodes (Erigon), JSON-RPC APIs, and CDK-based infrastructure.

What You’ll Do

Design, write, and maintain test plans and cases for Erigon (Ethereum node) deployments

Build and extend automated tests for APIs, infrastructure, and blockchain components

Perform manual and exploratory testing of new features, deployments, and updates

Conduct load and performance testing using tools like k6 and polycli

Test and validate JSON-RPC interactions and behaviors

Collaborate closely with developers to identify and troubleshoot issues early in the development cycle

Help optimize and scale testing practices as our infrastructure evolves

Tools You’ll Work With

k6 (Load testing)

polycli (Blockchain API testing)

Kurtosis (End-to-end environment testing)

Hive (Ethereum testing framework) – nice to have

What We’re Looking For

5+ years of experience in QA Engineering, covering both manual and automation testing

Proven experience testing backend services, APIs, and infrastructure systems

Familiarity with blockchain technology — Erigon experience is a major plus

Strong background in load and performance testing

Deep understanding of API testing methodologies and tools (e.g., Postman, Newman)

Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Comfortable working independently in a fully remote, fast-paced environment

Bonus Points

Experience with AWS CDK or similar cloud development tools

Hands-on experience testing Ethereum clients and JSON-RPC interfaces

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests

Why Join Gateway.fm?

Work on real blockchain infrastructure powering live production systems

Fully remote and flexible work setup

Flat and fast-moving team — your work will have a visible impact

Opportunity to shape QA processes and tooling from the ground up

If you’re excited about high-impact engineering, decentralized infrastructure, and a culture of ownership — we’d love to hear from you.

Apply now and help us build the backbone of Web3.
