Job summary

Plata Card is seeking a QA Engineer - Backend (Golang) to join the Core Banking Systems Team. You will test scalable backend services built with a microservices architecture, Kafka and PostgreSQL, ensuring security and compliance with banking regulations.

The role involves manual testing on-site, plus writing automated tests in Go and other languages, and integrating testing into CI/CD. You will collaborate with product teams across international contexts, develop testing tools, and support

Qualifications

• Must have proven experience in writing test documentation and plans.
• Strong programming skills in Go, Java, Kotlin or Python.
• Experience with Git and SQL in backend environments.
• Proven ability to create and maintain automated tests across languages.
• Experience building and maintaining a test framework and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Analyze requirements and create test scenarios and data.
• Develop and maintain test documentation and plans.
• Perform acceptance and regression testing (manual and automated).
• Participate in on-site testing and own testing processes.

Job description

We are looking for a QA Engineer - Backend (Golang) for theCore Banking Systems Team — a team focused on building reliable and scalable backend systems at the core of our financial infrastructure. The team develops solutions for credit card issuing and processing, working with a microservices architecture and technologies such as Kafka and PostgreSQL. A key part of the team’s work is ensuring that our systems are secure, resilient, and compliant with Mexican banking and accounting regulations.

Challenges that await you:

• Requirements analysis, creation of test scenarios, and preparation of test data
• Development and maintenance of test documentation
• Acceptance and regression testing (automated and manual)
• Manual testing responsibilities are an essential part of the role, including on-site involvement and ownership of the testing process.
• Writing and maintaining automated tests in Go
• Support of the test project
• Development and maintenance of the test project
• Integration of automated tests into CI/CD
• Development and maintenance of testing infrastructure and tools
• Identification, localization, and reporting of defects using a bug tracking system
• Communication with the product team during development and participation in releases
• Developing and maintaining custom tools to support the testing process (e.g., mock services, data generators, reporting tools)
