Job summary

Paradigm Technology in Tennessee is seeking a hands-on Quality Assurance Engineer to design, execute, and maintain automated testing for enterprise applications.

The role emphasizes Tosca, Azure DevOps Boards, and Playwright, with up to 50% on-site work in Chattanooga or Knoxville. Experience in utilities/energy/government sectors is a plus.

The engineer will work across UI and integration tests, support CI/CD pipelines, and deliver reusable automation components for scalable regression testing.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in software quality assurance, test automation, or a related role.
• Hands-on experience with the Tricentis Tosca suite, including test-case design, module creation, execution, and maintenance.
• Experience using Azure DevOps Boards for defect tracking, test management, work-item management, and Agile delivery.
• Experience with at least one automated testing tool or framework, such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or similar.
• Experience integrating automated tests with CI/CD pipelines, preferably Azure DevOps Pipelines.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile/Scrum, test planning, test-case design, regression testing, and defect lifecycle management.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document test evidence and quality metrics.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Ability to come to Chattanooga or Knoxville office up to 50%.
• Experience in the Utilities, Energy, Construction, or Government sectors is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and execute automated functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end test suites using Tricentis Tosca.
• Create reusable Tosca test modules, test cases, test data sets, and automation components to support scalable regression testing.
• Design and execute UI automation tests using automated testing tools; experience with Playwright is strongly preferred.
• Use Azure DevOps Boards to manage user stories, test plans, test cases, defects, sprint tasks, and traceability throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Review requirements, acceptance criteria, and technical designs to identify test scenarios, risks, and coverage gaps.
• Perform manual testing where automation is not practical.
• Log, triage, reproduce, retest, and validate defects; partner with developers and business analysts to resolve issues.
• Support execution of automated test suites through CI/CD pipelines and provide clear test results, dashboards, and release-readiness recommendations.
