Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. in North Carolina seeks a Quality Assurance professional to support shop floor activities and packaging oversight.

The role involves evaluating defects, reviewing batch records, and driving continuous improvement on a night shift (3rd shift, Sunday-Thursday 11:30PM-8:00AM) at Wilson operations. The candidate should have a strong QA background in pharmaceutical operations, knowledge of GMP/NDA regulations, and experience working in a team-focused, diverse environment with strong

Qualifications

• High School Diploma AND at least Three (3) years in a manufacturing, technical, support, or Military role.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred in the field of science.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct shop floor support (counts, tagging, production event support).
• Quality oversight of the packaging process and plant site.
• Evaluate defect resolution and control of material using statistical methods.
• Provide guidance to packaging to ensure GMP compliance.
• Perform batch record review of intermediate/finished product.
• Maintain 5S organization and identify improvements.
• Trend compliance performance indicators to drive improvement.
• Assist in implementing new programs/regulatory changes at the site.
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities and implement changes with other functions.
• Provide QA review/approval of GMP-related SOPs and develop better procedures.
• Participate in root-cause investigations and disposition recommendations.
• Take part in projects as required.
• Demonstrate leadership by maintaining a safe workplace.
• Promote team effectiveness and respect for diverse perspectives.
• Interpret Company Quality Policies in daily work.
