Job summary

Infosys is seeking a QA Engineer to advance testing of mobile applications on Android and iOS devices in a San Jose environment. You will contribute to requirements, join design discussions, and help integrate new features while ensuring stability and quality across platforms.

The role emphasizes hands-on testing, defect reporting, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable software and smooth production support. Relocation/travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in Android and iOS device testing.
• Experience testing Android and iOS smartphones/tablets across different OEM devices.
• Experience configuring devices, installing software builds, applications, and test packages.
• Ability to execute test cases, follow test procedures, and accurately document results.
• Experience identifying and validating issues related to app behavior, UI responsiveness, crashes, battery consumption, thermal performance, and device stability.
• Experience collecting device logs and creating clear defect reports for engineering teams.
• Exposure to test automation is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to requirements elicitation by documenting assigned parts of business requirements, in line with guidance provided.
• Facilitate software application design discussions, and document design decisions to guide the technical team towards building software solutions.
• Participate in coding and integrate new features or updates into existing applications, with a focus on maintaining system stability.
• Conduct code reviews, make changes to the codebase and maintain code repositories.
• Implement test strategies, analyse results, and coordinate bug fixes to uphold the software quality standards.
• Develop user training programs, documentation, and support frameworks to ensure a smooth transition to new software applications.
• Actively participate in resolving production issues and recommend preventive strategies to enhance system reliability.
• Maintain detailed records of code, testing techniques, and support activities to enrich the knowledge base and assist other similar projects.
