Job description

QA Analysts ensure the quality and fidelity of services provided by all programs within Behavioral Health Services of Racine County (BHS). Helps to ensure that outcomes are positive for consumers using our services. Works to develop and implement changes for more effective services and experiences. Assists with various projects and initiatives that BHS is developing and maintaining. Contact with individuals may be in person or by telephone at BHS.

  1. Develop and maintain knowledge of all programs within Behavioral Health Services to ensure effective access and care for the community and consumers served.
  2. Ensure staff are following all required statutes and maintains appropriate training.
  3. Oversees the processes and procedures used in all programs within Behavioral Health Services including Crisis Services, Comprehensive Community Services (CCS), Community Support Program (CSP),outpatient mental health and SUD services, and more.
  4. Works with the Assistant HS Administrator – BHS & Aging to maintain consistency of current practice and that the expectations of the Assistant HS Administrator are implemented.
  5. Document all activities to ensure compliance with County, State, and Federal requirements.
  6. Document all activities to ensure compliance with Medicaid and Medicare requirements.
  7. Develop and implement necessary changes for process improvement.
  8. Facilitate the success of BHS programs by reviewing report queries of services provided by BHS workers.
  9. Identify in a timely manner when BHS staff are not following policies, procedures, Medicaid/Medicare requirements, and state statute.
  10. Communicate effectively with BHS Managers and Supervisors to address statutory and clinical quality issues.
  1. Assist in the development of QA tools and reports to ensure compliance with program policy and procedures, Medicaid/Medicare requirements, and state statutes.
  2. Provide trainings to staff on Caregiving Training standards, TCM, and more as needed.
  3. Assist in various projects and initiatives as assigned by the Assistant HS Administrator.
  4. Meet regularly with the Assistant HS Administrator to ensure effective communication between the QA Unit and other units within BHS.
  5. All other duties as assigned, including responding to an emergency event.

Supervision Received: Receives supervision from the Assistant HS Administrator - BHS & Aging.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a human services related field is preferred or minimum five (5) years of supervisory experience.
  • Successful completion of the WI Caregiver Training Academy within six (6) months of start; or a member in good standing of the WI Caregiver Registry.
  • Prompt and regular attendance.
  • Knowledge of DHS 34, 35, 36, 63, 75, 92 and 94 and Wisconsin State Statutes, 48, 51 and 55.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and multitask.
  • Effective oral and written communication.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with a diverse client population.
  • Ability to work well with treatment team and community members.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
  • Interacts with the public in a professional manner.
  • Ability to lift 20 pounds and walk up and down stairs.
