Job summary

SMX Space and Intelligence (S&I) BU is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, implement, and deploy high-performance Python solutions for national defense projects. The role emphasizes real-time data processing, scalable software systems, and secure development practices.

Position is on-site at the customer's location in Boulder, CO, four days per week, with a focus on DoD-compliant workflows and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Must be able to obtain Interim DoD Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
• BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field.
• 9+ years of professional Python software engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deploy features.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient Python code.
• Utilize Gitlab, Gitlab Runner, Docker, Kubernetes and Helm Charts for deployments.
• Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues to ensure optimal performance.
• Utilize Jira for project management and tracking.
• Apply DoD standards and protocols to ensure compliance and security.

Education

BS or advanced degree in Computer Science or another relevant field
