Job summary

Capgemini Engineering is seeking a Verification and Validation (Hardware) Engineer/Technician for an onsite role in Deer Valley, AZ. You will develop Python scripts to validate embedded hardware, execute tests, and document results in a lab setting.

You will analyze interfaces, troubleshoot hardware and firmware, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. A BS in a related field and 3+ years of hardware validation experience are required; aerospace standards like DO-178C are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years of hardware validation, testing, or automation.
• Hands-on board-level debugging and hardware troubleshooting experience.
• Knowledge of hardware communication protocols (UART, RS-422/485, SPI, I2C, GPIO, Ethernet, CAN).
• Experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, DMMs, power supplies, and signal generators.
• Ability to write test plans, execute tests, and analyze results; familiarity with Git and software development best practices.
• Nice to have DO-178C aerospace standards experience.
• Strong analytical, debugging, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and execute Python-based hardware validation scripts.
• Perform board-level and interface-level testing for embedded hardware systems.
• Translate hardware requirements into test procedures and pass/fail criteria for UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, and Ethernet interfaces.
• Use lab equipment to diagnose hardware, firmware, and test setup issues.
• Conduct root-cause analysis and contribute to code reviews; maintain robust logging and version control.
