Job summary

Capgemini Engineering is seeking an engineer/technician to run Python scripts on low-level hardware interfaces and perform hardware troubleshooting. The role requires independence, coordination with product teams, and weekly status sharing among team members.

You will develop, maintain, and debug Python-based validation scripts for board- and interface-level testing, translate hardware requirements into test procedures, and work with interfaces like UART, SPI, I2C, and Ethernet.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline with emphasis on electrical/electronic/computer engineering or related field.
• Strong proficiency in Python for hardware automation, validation, and test development.
• Solid understanding of digital and embedded hardware systems, communication protocols, and debug techniques.
• Hands-on experience with hardware test equipment and lab environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and debug Python-based hardware validation scripts for board-level and interface-level testing.
• Translate hardware requirements into executable test procedures and pass/fail criteria.
• Interface and lab skills with UART/RS-422/RS-485, SPI, I2C, GPIO, Ethernet/CAN as relevant.
• Write maintainable Python code with logging, retries, timeouts, and robust error handling.
