Our client, a leading financial institution, is seeking a seasoned Senior Python Developer to join their Risk Technology team. This role involves working closely with software developers, risk managers, business analysts, and middle office users to enhance and support a robust risk calculation and reporting framework.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate within an Agile team to implement and enhance risk calculation and reporting systems.
• Interface with Risk Managers, Business Analysts, and Middle Office users to gather and analyze requirements.
• Coordinate full SDLC activities including development, testing, release, and post-release support.
• Drive enhancements in risk methodology and infrastructure.
• Develop scalable frameworks for calculating risk metrics using Python and strategic firm-wide platforms.
• Ensure high performance and concurrency in distributed systems.
  
  

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of IT experience in enterprise-level application development within the financial domain.
• Strong proficiency in Python and Object-Oriented Analysis and Design .
• Experience with risk calculations , market risk models , and financial product pricing .
• Hands-on experience with:
• Key/Value Object Stores
• SQL Querying (Sybase preferred)
• Cloudera
• Shell Scripting
• Linux environments
• Proven ability to work in distributed systems and highly concurrent environments. Preferred Qualifications:
• Deep understanding of financial instruments and derivatives.
• Prior experience in a banking or financial services environment.
