Job summary

DMI is seeking a Python Developer to design, build, and operate internal apps supporting a large federal IT services program. You will automate processes and enable AI-driven insights for leadership across Washington, DC and nationwide locations.

You will own applications from requirements through production support, delivering reliable tools with minimal supervision and emphasizing root-cause fixes and secure, scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field or equivalent.
• 5+ years of professional Python development experience.
• Hands-on experience building web apps with Flask or comparable Python framework.
• Experience integrating REST APIs including authentication, pagination, and error handling.
• Linux server administration knowledge (systemd, permissions, Bash).
• Pandas/SQL experience including PostgreSQL design, querying, administration.
• Proficiency with Git and version control.
• Experience with open source tools in production.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain internal Python web apps with Flask/Streamlit to support service delivery, procurement, tracking, and asset accountability.
• Automate recurring workflows: report generation, data reconciliation, document assembly, ticket follow-up.
• Apply AI capabilities for data extraction, classification, and status reporting with human review.
• Build and maintain ServiceNow integrations for tickets and asset data; monitor SLAs.
• Develop monitoring, testing, and deployment tools; ensure secure coding per standards.
