Job summary

Goldman Sachs is seeking a software engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain Python-based applications powering analytical and audit workflows. You will build secure RESTful APIs and design robust data models with efficient SQL for reporting and analytics.

You will collaborate in a global Agile/Scrum environment, contribute to CI/CD pipelines with GitLab, and promote quality through tests and TDD while delivering impact across multiple platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• 3–5 years of professional software engineer experience.
• Strong Python development experience building production applications.
• Solid SQL skills and understanding of data modelling concepts.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain Python-based applications and automation that power analytical and audit workflows.
• Build and expose secure RESTful APIs (Flask or similar frameworks) for internal and downstream use.
• Design data models and write efficient SQL for reporting, analytics and application needs.
• Manage source control, code reviews, and CI/CD pipelines with GitLab.
• Package and deploy applications to containerized environments, promoting reliability.
• Champion engineering quality through unit tests, integration tests, and TDD.
• Collaborate with product owners and audit stakeholders in a global Agile/Scrum setting.
• Identify opportunities to improve performance, reliability, and developer experience.
