Municipality of Anchorage is seeking a contract administrator for the Public Works department. The role focuses on managing maintenance contracts including LRSA and RRSA, ensuring contractor compliance with terms, and aligning work with municipal policies.
Successful candidates will navigate MOA rules, project management practices, and a priority-driven environment to support public works operations. Remote work may be considered after probation with department approval.

This position is represented by the Anchorage Municipal Employee Association (AMEA) and is subject to the provisions of the current agreement between the Municipality of Anchorage and the Union.

Starting pay does not exceed the midpoint of the displayed pay range.

Under general supervision of the Public Works Administration Manager this positions shall perform the following job duties and functions as they relate to the administration of maintenance contracts for Public Works, to include the Limited Road Service Areas (LRSA) and Rural Road Service Areas (RRSA); to ensure contractor compliance with contract terms and conditions. Application of applicable laws, ordinances, policies and procedures shall be followed and applied as promulgated by Municipal Charter and Anchorage Municipal Code and in a manner consistent with Municipal Policies & Procedures. Other related duties may be assigned which are necessary in support of Public Works Administration's mission and operation.
Activities include but not limited to developing, preparing, and administering various contracts within the Public Work's Departments to include those utilized to perform road maintenance activities within LRSA/RRSA boundaries. Must have comprehensive knowledge and understanding of contract administration practices and principles to include related project management. Utilizing MOA rules, regulations, polices, and sound judgment to resolve problems and manage conflicting priorities.
Preference will be given to Anchorage Municipal Employees Association (AMEA) employees. AMEA employees who are successful in the screening process will be forwarded to the department for consideration prior to any non-AMEA candidates.
