City of Waynesboro Public Works seeks a Public Works Analyst II (GIS) to perform GIS analytical work supporting multiple functions. The role maintains GIS layers, updates databases, and builds analytical products for maintenance, engineering and stormwater teams.
The position is primarily office-based with routine field duties, including GPS-ing water meters and supporting asset management systems. Strong GIS experience and a valid VA driver’s license are required.

Performs GIS analytical work in support of a variety of Public Works functions. Duties will include maintaining GIS layers, updating GIS databases as new facilities are built in the City, updating public facing GIS maps, supporting utility crew work, and developing analytical products to support maintenance, engineering, and stormwater operations. Conduct field work to GPS existing items (e.g., water meters) to be added into GIS. Serve as a back-up administrator for the department’s asset management system.
The position will primarily be office based, but routine field work in all weather conditions will be required.
Starting Salary : $50,000-$54,000, depending on skills/experience, with the opportunity to obtain salary increases through additional education/training.
