Job summary

McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. is seeking a Post-Construction Assistant Superintendent to support the post-construction lead in overseeing maintenance, repairs, and field operations for a utility-scale PV/BESS portfolio.

The role requires diverse skills across electrical, civil, mechanical disciplines and field execution. You will coordinate with the superintendent and technicians, participate in warranty/maintenance meetings, document findings, and promote a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of electrical equipment.
• Knowledge of applicable safety and environmental regulations.
• Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
• Excellent hands-on abilities with strong technical skills.
• Strong people skills and collaboration in a cross-functional team.
• Ability to excel in a collaborative, geographically diverse organization.
• Willing to travel and drive long distance.
• 3+ years of experience in a power plant or PV Solar O&M/EPC experience.
• Ability to work overtime and non-standard working hours.

Responsibilities

• Provide coordination, planning and supervision support to Superintendent and field technicians.
• Participation in Warranty/Maintenance meetings (Internal and External).
• Support root cause investigations by documenting and submitting field findings to management.
• Promote and enforce a strong safety culture with THA's, LOTO procedures and work plans.
• Identify and address technical or logistical challenges during corrective maintenance.
• Identify and procure proper materials needed for corrective maintenance cases.
• Ensure work complies with Environmental and Safety requirements.
• Provide technical assistance to junior staff and document site issues/resolutions.
• Update and complete required work order documentation and daily logs.
• Travel to sites as requested; long-distance or overnight travel may be required.
• Supervise contractors in the field and ensure safe execution of jobs.
• Take direction, analyze problems, and develop solutions independently and with others.
• Interact with stakeholders at all levels; maintain professional relationships.
• Strong analytical, diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
