Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories seeks a Postdoctoral Appointee to advance PV performance modeling, data analysis, and analytics. The role focuses on developing and evaluating models, validating methods, and benchmarking PV system performance across terrestrial and space applications.

You will join an integrated team of researchers, collaborating across internal and external groups to push the science of PV analytics and tooling. Remote work within the U.S. is possible with onsite preferences noted.

Qualifications

• PhD in engineering, physical sciences, mathematics, computer science, or other relevant, related technical field.
• Demonstrated research experience in PV, energy systems, computational modeling, data science, AI, time-series analysis, or O&M analytics.
• Programming and scientific computing skills (e.g., Python).
• Strong written and verbal communication evidenced by publications or conference presentations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and extend PV performance models to include additional physics and environments.
• Test and verify new analytical methods for PV performance evaluation.
• Perform model calibration and verification.
• Contribute to open-source tools.
• Process and analyze field and experimental PV performance and meteorological data.
• Attend and present at PV-related conferences and workshops.
• Publish research findings in journals and reports.
