Job summary

Mortenson Construction is seeking a PV Engineer I to support design through construction, ensuring smooth transitions into operations. You will work on site layout, energy modeling, electrical design, and contract review for diverse solar projects.

Travel to project sites is common; mobility is expected. A Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree and internship exposure are preferred, with a strong emphasis on collaboration, problem-solving, and customer service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field by summer 2027.
• Willingness to be mobile/relocate for project assignments based on business needs.
• Hold a current driver's license and have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Generate accurate, highly detailed construction drawings in 2D and 3D software.
• Produce energy production models in PVSyst and SAM.
• Apply PPA and Interconnection requirements to electrical design and align documents with testing standards.
• Size conductors for ampacity and read single line diagrams for equipment counts.
• Highlight differences between module types and apply derates as needed.
• Develop relationships with field engineers and participate in design meetings.
