Job summary

Maximus is hiring a Director of Pursuit Operations, Rapid Response to lead the intake, assessment, prioritization, and coordination of new business opportunities across the organization. The ideal candidate is a strategic and operational leader with strong stakeholder management who guides cross‑functional teams through complex initiatives to support growth and execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
• 10+ years of relevant professional experience required.
• Specialized experience leading pursuit intake, triage, risk assessment, and governance for complex government and health services opportunities.
• Ability to advise executives on prioritization, readiness, and cross-functional deployment.

Responsibilities

• Leads early opportunity qualification, triage, risk assessment, and resource mobilization.
• Lead intake and triage of opportunities across multiple lines of business.
• Establish and manage rapid-response processes for evaluating opportunity fit, strategic alignment, resource requirements, competitive positioning, and pursuit viability.
• Facilitate early qualification activities and executive decision-making regarding bid/no-bid recommendations.
• Maintain visibility into emerging opportunities and escalated high-priority pursuits requiring immediate attention.
• Track MSA, RFI, and emerging opportunity activity to identify trends, readiness requirements, and future pipeline opportunities.
• Lead rapid mobilization of pursuit resources for short-fuse opportunities, task orders, demonstrations, executive presentations, and accelerated procurement timelines.
• Assess resource availability, identify capability gaps, and escalated constraints that may impact pursuit success.
• Ensure critical milestones, reviews, and executive approvals are completed within compressed timelines.
• Provide strategic guidance to executives on pursuit readiness, resource deployment, schedule acceleration, and risk mitigation.
• Lead, coach and develop a team by providing clear direction that support individual and organizational objectives
• Champion responsible use of approved AI-enabled tools and automation to improve intake, triage, reporting, knowledge management, and pursuit operations.
