Job summary

Mosaic in Axtell, NE is seeking a Direct Support Manager to lead residential services and a team of direct support staff. You will ensure regulatory compliance, manage budgets, and uphold a warm, therapeutic environment for individuals served.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, coordinating program plans, maintaining medical/social files, and overseeing facilities and safety. A healthcare leadership mindset and commitment to person-centered planning are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Special Education, or related field (experience may substitute).
• Minimum of 3 years of related work experience, with at least 1 year in supervision.
• Experience supporting people with developmental disabilities preferred.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards and medication administration guidelines.
• Ability to manage budgets and maintain accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Lead & Inspire: Schedule, coach, and supervise direct support supervisors and staff to build a high-performing, compassionate team.
• Program Oversight: Coordinate and manage the implementation of individual program plans and monitor day-to-day operations.
• Advocacy & Support: Ensure individual medical, social, and programmatic files are accurately maintained using electronic documentation. Coordinate appointments and community activities for the people served.
• Operational Excellence: Maintain residential facilities and vehicles, prepare accurate administrative reports, and manage local financial accounts, petty cash, and grocery/supply purchasing.
• Safety & Compliance: Monitor safety guidelines, regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and OSHA regulations across environments.
• Hands-On Leadership: Train and guide staff in positive, emotionally supportive interactions. Step in to work direct care shifts when needed to maintain required staffing ratios, and provide guidance during emergency situations on an on-call basis.
