  • Supports Purchasing Card Program in compliance with policies.
  • Maintains procurement records and documentation.
  • Facilitates new vendor setup with the SAO.
  • Assists with asset management.
  • Creates purchasing reports.
  • Performs other purchasing and administrative duties.

Job Description

Columbus Technical College is looking for a full-time Purchasing Technician to work in the Fiscal Operations department. This individual will be responsible for receiving and reviewing purchase requisitions, creating purchase orders, and assisting with other procurement transactions while ensuring purchases comply with State of Georgia policies, procedures, and applicable laws. This position is full-time/exempt. This position will require the selected candidate to successfully pass a credit check along with other pre-employment requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Ensures prompt, efficient service is provided in procurement of services, supplies, and equipment
  • Receives and reviews purchase requisitions from departments
  • Creates and issues purchase orders
  • Supports CTC’s Purchasing Card Program in compliance with Statewide Purchasing Card Policy and CTC’s P-Card Policy and Procedures Manual
  • Maintains procurement records and documentation
  • Facilitates new vendor setup with the State Accounting Office (SAO)
  • Assists with asset management
  • Creates purchasing reports
  • Performs other purchasing and administrative duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Three (3) years of related work experience
  • Note: This position requires following Georgia Procurement area-specific certification(s), either at the time of employment, or within (6) months from hire date: GCPA (Georgia Certified Purchasing Associate) GCPCA (Georgia Certified P-Card Administrator)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint)
  • Experience using Workday or any other enterprise resource planning (ERP) system
Salary/Benefits

Salary is commensurate with education and experience. Benefits include state holidays, annual leave, and sick leave, State of Georgia Retirement, Health and Flexible Benefits Program.
