Job summary

HireLevel. is seeking a Purchasing & Supply Chain Specialist in Fenton, MO for a full-time position with potential for contract-to-hire.

You will manage PO creation and tracking within Epicor Prophet 21, verify pricing and delivery schedules, and work to optimize material availability in alignment with production plans. The role requires at least an associate degree (or coursework) and 2+ years in purchasing, with strong Excel and ERP experience.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or some college coursework preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years purchasing or procurement experience.
• Experience with ERP systems; Epicor Prophet 21 experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create, issue, and manage purchase orders within the ERP system (Epicor Prophet 21).
• Verify pricing, quantities, lead times, and delivery schedules.
• Monitor open purchase orders and expedite critical materials as needed.
• Communicate with suppliers to resolve shortages, delays, and delivery issues.
• Build and maintain vendor relationships while supporting supplier performance improvements.
• Coordinate purchasing activities to support production schedules, customer orders, and project timelines.
• Maintain accurate purchasing data, pricing, and supplier information in the ERP system.
• Assist with vendor negotiations and cost-saving initiatives.
• Track supplier performance, late orders, and purchasing metrics.
• Collaborate with Operations, Production, Customer Service, and Sales teams to ensure material availability.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and streamline purchasing processes.
• Maintain organized purchasing records and documentation.

Compensation: $30 - $32/hr. (Based on experience)

Requirements

• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Forklift certification or experience preferred (training provided if needed)
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross‑functional teams

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach throughout the workday
• Lift and move up to 50 pounds as needed
• Operate warehouse equipment and use common hand tools
• Ability to work safely in an industrial environment
