Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate vendors based on price, reliability, capability, and history.
  • Set and maintain raw material safety stock, reorder points, and lead times.
  • Negotiate and manage terms and pricing of contracts and SLAs.
  • Coordinate delivery times with vendors and resolve shipping errors.
  • Communicate potential material delays to project managers and manufacturing.
  • Prepare purchasing documents accurately and completely.
  • Maintain pricing histories and vendor records.
  • Control stock levels on hand or on order.
  • Provide data to forecast warehouse needs and production schedules.
  • Prepare reports and keep inventory records.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
  • Hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Purchasing & Inventory Control Specialist

Full Time; New Freedom, PA, US

Overview

This full-time position focuses on ordering products, services, and raw materials, ensuring purchasing documents are accurate and complete. This is time-sensitive, per-project ordering. The role also involves negotiating discounts with vendors and maintaining inventory levels. Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, the ability to multitask, good verbal and written communication, budgeting, and math skills are desirable.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate vendors based on price, reliability, capability, and previous transaction history.
  • Set and maintain raw material safety stock, reorder points, and update lead times.
  • Negotiate and manage terms and pricing of contracts and service level agreements.
  • Interact with vendors to schedule delivery times and resolve shipping errors to minimize manufacturing disruption.
  • Communicate with project managers and manufacturing on potential material delays, supplier disruptions, inventory discrepancies, etc.
  • Prepare purchasing documents ensuring they are complete and accurate.
  • Maintain pricing histories and other vendor records.
  • Maintain control of stock or materials on hand or on order within the company.
  • Furnish data as needed to forecast and prepare warehouse and schedule of goods in process and needs for future production use.
  • Prepare reports as needed and keep inventory records.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of purchasing experience in a manufacturing setting is strongly preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access all areas of the facility to determine purchasing needs.
