Job summary

Piper Companies is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to join a leading medical device organization focused on advancing patient outcomes in musculoskeletal health in Audubon, PA. You will collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and planning teams to support day-to-day purchasing operations, drive supplier performance, and ensure materials and services are sourced efficiently and cost-effectively.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred.
• 1+ year of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience or internship.
• Hands-on experience with purchase order management and supplier coordination.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Excel for reporting and data analysis.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with high attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Review and process purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and supplier quotes to meet operational and production requirements
• Partner with suppliers, manufacturing, and accounts payable teams to ensure on-time delivery and invoice accuracy
• Track and evaluate supplier performance; address issues related to delays, quality problems, or order discrepancies
• Conduct cost analysis, evaluate volume requirements, and support cost-reduction initiatives
• Maintain accurate procurement system data and assist with inventory planning, scheduling, and broader supply chain coordination
