Job summary

Amerhart, an SBP Brand, seeks a Purchasing Specialist to support purchasing efforts at our Sheboygan Falls location. You will issue Purchase Orders (PO), match POs to vendor acknowledgements, proof PO to acknowledgement and adjust PO while handling scheduling tasks for manufacturing.

The role reports to the Estimating Team Manager. The position emphasizes scheduling, forecasting, inventory control, and purchasing to optimize material flow and customer satisfaction within a vertically integrated

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s degree in supply chain management preferred.
• 3–5 years inventory control experience in manufacturing.
• Hands-on planning, scheduling, shipping, receiving, capacity planning, inventory control, and purchasing in ERP.
• Strong math and analytical skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

• Report and improve internal scheduling, inventory, and supply chain issues including receipt, transfer and reman of product.
• Focus on optimizing scheduling process for better material flow and customer satisfaction.
• Analyze products, specifications, ordering trends to optimize inventory levels at local manufacturing and distribution center.
• Communicate with Branch Management, Sales, Central Buyers and customers to align production with branch needs.
• Maintain accuracy of local inventory via AP reconciliation and open PO lists.
• Negotiate quality, pricing and delivery of raw materials with suppliers and Central Buyers.

Amerhart, an SBP Brand is currently looking for a Purchasing Specialist to join our VALUES based organization. This role will be supporting purchasing efforts in our Sheboygan Falls Location to issue Purchase Orders (PO), match POs to vendor acknowledgements, proof PO to acknowledgement and make corrections to PO along with completing scheduling tasks for manufacturing. The position will report to the Estimating Team Manager for a market-leading vertically integrated panel processor and contract wood product manufacturer in the Central Industrial Region.

Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

• Focus daily on reporting and improving internal scheduling, inventory, and supply chain issues to include receipt, transfer and reman of product.
• Areas of responsibility include scheduling, forecasting, inventory control accuracy, and purchasing. This position will focus on optimizing the scheduling process for improved material flow and overall customer satisfaction.
• Analyze products, specifications, ordering trends, etc. to optimize inventory levels maintained at local manufacturing and distribution center.
• Communicate and work closely with the Branch Management Team, Sales Representatives (Inside and Outside), Central Buyers and customers to ensure scheduled production meets needs of branch.
• Required to maintain the accuracy of the local branch center’s inventory system through AP reconciliation and open PO lists
• Negotiate quality, pricing and delivery of raw materials with network of suppliers and Central Buyers.

Required cognitive and psychological characteristics:

• Must have a working knowledge of MS Office; Knowledge and experience with Agility software desirable.

Education and Experience:

• High School diploma or HS GED required.
• An associate's degree in supply chain management preferred.
• 3-5 years inventory control experience and/or planning in manufacturing industry.
• Hands on expertise in planning, scheduling, shipping, receiving, capacity planning, inventory control, and purchasing in an ERP environment required.
• Computer knowledge including a good understanding of Microsoft Office products.
• Strong math and analytical skills.

$24.00/hr.-$29.00/hr. based on experience
