Ultimate Staffing is seeking a Purchasing Planner to join in Grapevine, TX. This is a full-time, direct hire position. The role is 100% onsite.
The Purchasing Planner is responsible for creating and tracking manufacturer purchase orders based on Material Planner and Analyst requirements. This role partners closely with Production Control, Warehouse Operations, Finance, and the China Buying Team to ensure timely procurement, support customer backorder fulfillment, maintain inventory flow, and resolve invoice discrepancies prior to payment processing. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a working knowledge of supply chain operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Purchasing & Planning Operations (90%)
- Create manufacturer purchase orders and transfer tickets for all manufacturing operations required to produce finished goods.
- Coordinate with Production Control to determine production priorities, sequencing requirements, and manufacturing schedules.
- Process local purchase requisitions and purchase orders in accordance with company policies and operational requirements.
- Review, validate, and reconcile vendor invoices prior to submission to Finance for payment processing.
- Investigate and resolve purchase order, sales order, and invoice discrepancies in collaboration with the China Buying Team and internal stakeholders.
- Monitor open purchase orders and manufacturer commitments to ensure timely delivery and supply continuity.
- Support material planning activities by tracking supplier performance, order status, and inventory requirements.
- Assist in prioritizing and expediting customer backorders to support service level objectives.
Warehouse Operations & Process Efficiency (5%)
- Maintain organized purchasing and inventory processes that support efficient warehouse operations.
- Collaborate with warehouse personnel to ensure timely movement of materials and resolution of supply-related issues.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and workflow effectiveness.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field required.
- Minimum of one (1) year of purchasing, planning, supply chain, inventory management, or related experience preferred.
- Experience working in a manufacturing, distribution, or warehouse environment is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and manage large volumes of data.
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external business partners.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated understanding of purchasing, inventory management, and supply chain processes.
- Knowledge of end-to-end supply chain operations, including procurement, planning, logistics, and inventory control.
- Experience working in cross-functional, team-oriented environments.
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and demand forecasting tools.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking capabilities.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Mandarin language proficiency is preferred but not required.
