Job summary

Johnson & Johnson Surgical Vision is recruiting for a Purchasing Manager, located in Milpitas, California. You will lead the daily purchasing operations, develop a high-performing buying team, and ensure materials are available to support reliable production while maintaining quality, cost, and inventory targets.

In this role you will drive supplier performance, lead S&OP reviews, manage KPIs, and implement Lean-based continuous improvement across the function.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; MA/MBA preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience with ERP systems, SAP preferred.
• Strong leadership and coaching abilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations and build a high-performing team.
• Lead monthly S&OP reviews with strategic suppliers.
• Balance workloads and ensure coverage for project needs.
• Standardize practices and cross-train team members.
• Resolve invoice discrepancies promptly.
• Track shortages and implement timely mitigation.
• Lead root-cause analysis and continuous improvement.
• Manage KPIs like OTIF and inventory metrics.
• Maintain accurate purchasing master data in ERP.
• Establish strong supplier communication.
