Job summary

iMPact Business Group in Zeeland, MI is seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to lead procurement strategy in a high‑volume manufacturing setting. You will oversee a purchasing team, develop supplier partnerships, and drive strategic sourcing and cost optimization initiatives to support operational objectives.

You will partner with Operations, Quality, Engineering and Finance to improve supplier performance and lead negotiations, supplier development, and continuous improvement efforts

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field is preferred.
• 8+ years in purchasing/procurement in automotive or high-volume manufacturing.
• 2+ years of purchasing leadership or team management.
• Strong background in supplier negotiations and strategic sourcing.
• Experience managing supplier performance for quality, cost, and delivery.
• Experience supporting new programs, supplier development, and continuous improvement.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate across departments.

Responsibilities

• Lead purchasing operations and provide strategic direction for procurement activities
• Manage, coach, and develop a purchasing team with priorities and performance expectations

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Procurement, Operations, Materials Management, or related field preferred
• 8+ years of purchasing or procurement experience within an automotive or high-volume manufacturing environment
• 2+ years of purchasing leadership or team management experience
• Strong background in supplier negotiations, strategic sourcing, and cost reduction initiatives
• Experience managing supplier performance related to quality, cost, and delivery
• Experience supporting new programs, supplier development, and continuous improvement initiatives preferred
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments and build long-term supplier partnerships
