LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Buyer to join a growing manufacturing organization. This role will be responsible for sourcing materials, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring the timely procurement of goods and services needed to support production and operational goals. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, supplier management experience, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Manage procurement activities for raw materials, components, and indirect materials to support production requirements
- Source and evaluate suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery performance, and service
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and purchasing agreements to achieve cost savings and supply continuity
- Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with production and planning teams to maintain appropriate stock levels
- Issue and manage purchase orders while ensuring timely supplier deliveries
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to support operational objectives
- Analyze purchasing data and market trends to identify cost reduction opportunities
- Resolve supplier issues related to pricing, quality, delivery, and performance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, engineering, production, and finance
- Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies and procedures
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, or a related field
- 3+ years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience within a manufacturing environment
- Experience negotiating with suppliers and managing vendor relationships
- Strong understanding of inventory management and procurement processes
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and relationship-building abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience purchasing for automotive, food, industrial, or consumer goods manufacturing operations
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and supply chain best practices
- APICS, CPSM, CPSD, or other supply chain certification
- Experience with cost reduction and strategic sourcing initiatives
