Job summary

We Search People is partnering with a leading Florida contractor to recruit a Residential Purchasing Manager in Tampa. The role focuses on procuring foundation, masonry and framing materials, building strong vendor relationships, and coordinating shipments with project timelines.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in construction purchasing, deep knowledge of building materials, and proficiency with Excel and purchasing/PM software.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in construction purchasing or buying, preferably in high-volume residential building
• Strong knowledge of construction materials (foundation, masonry, framing)
• Proven negotiation skills and experience working with regional vendors and distributors
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with purchasing/project management software

Responsibilities

• Material Procurement: Purchase materials for active and upcoming projects—primarily foundation, masonry, framing, and structural components—ensuring accuracy in quantities, pricing, and delivery timelines.
• Vendor Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, distributors; monitor performance, negotiate pricing and terms, identify opportunities for cost savings.
• Project Coordination: Collaborate with field superintendents, project managers, and site coordinators to forecast material needs and align deliveries with job schedules.
• Inventory & Delivery Oversight: Track delivery schedules, resolve discrepancies, and maintain inventory levels at job sites or satellite yards.
• Process Improvement & Cost Control: Refine purchasing systems and workflows; analyze trends and material usage to inform strategic sourcing and waste reduction.

Residential Purchasing Manager

Location: Tampa

Package: $90k - $120k + full benefits

We Search People are working in partnership with one of the largest Contractors in Florida who specialize in residential projects such as concrete, masonry and framing projects. Our client are offering an outstanding salary & benefits package, in addition to long-term progression.

Base Pay Range

$90,000.00/yr - $120,000.00/yr

Responsibilities

• Material Procurement: Purchase materials for active and upcoming projects—primarily foundation, masonry, framing, and structural components—ensuring accuracy in quantities, pricing, and delivery timelines.
• Vendor Management:> Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers distributors. Monitor vendor performance, negotiate pricing and terms, and identify opportunities for improved service or cost savings.

Position Requirements
