Position Summary

Provide leadership of Supply Chain Management activities for the division to maximize positive impact on RONA. Activities include materials planning, scheduling, inventory control, cash flow management, information flow, coordination, and asset management. Collaborate with suppliers, business unit managers, purchasing, production planners, I/T, and other resources to strategically plan and coordinate the flow of materials and information from customers through procurement to delivery. Manage responsibilities with business units and support groups for production planning, shipping, receiving, and inventory functions. Directly manage Purchasing and Supplier Quality functions.

Essential Functions
  • Lead procurement and materials management activities, including order placement, supplier evaluation, certification, follow-up, price negotiation, and compliance with regulations.
  • Manage production planning activities to achieve division sales and RONA objectives and maintain 100% on-time deliveries.
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity within the MRP database.
  • Maintain division materials metrics and standards of performance.
  • Implement automated systems to plan and track material flow.
  • Align material management policies with corporate inventory control objectives.
  • Support corporate purchasing initiatives like common part numbers, supplier managed inventory, and consolidated purchasing agreements.
  • Advise on supplier managed inventory or contracts with customers.
  • Support audit requirements related to planning, procurement, or inventory control.
  • Manage departmental budget within guidelines.
  • Implement cost reduction programs related to procurement and systems.
  • Develop and support team members' professional growth.
  • Benchmark and implement best practices in supplier management and lean principles.
  • Facilitate Kanban and other materials requirement planning techniques.
Job Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years experience in purchasing/materials management in high-volume manufacturing.
  • Extensive managerial experience with supply chain management systems, including JIT, MRPII, and APICS/CPM certification preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or related field; certification preferred.
  • Strong analytical, technical, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing, quality, or operations support functions.
  • Leadership experience in manufacturing operations.
  • Demonstrated teamwork and leadership skills.
