Job summary

AFC Industries is seeking a Purchasing Manager located in or near Arlington, TX, with hybrid work after training. Lead the purchasing team, manage inventory strategies, and build strategic supplier relationships to reach cost and service goals.

You will leverage your 5+ years in procurement to optimize processes, negotiate favorable terms, and maintain ISO procedures while supporting cross-functional teams. This role offers growth in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business-related field, preferably Supply Chain or Purchasing.
• 5+ years in buying/purchasing with management experience.
• Experience with inventory management and ABC classification.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead Purchasing department personnel, overseeing the purchasing process.
• Analyze existing purchasing processes for performance; identify and implement process efficiencies.
• Develop and implement procurement strategies for favorable pricing, terms and agreements.
• Monitor and control inventory levels and turns using inventory metrics and ABC classification.
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with supply base.
• Establish measurable regional department goals with supporting metrics.
• Analyze cost trends and supply/demand challenges and propose solutions.
• Ensure adequate inventory of all parts for customer satisfaction.
• Review and maintain ISO procedures for the purchasing area.
• Hire and train new employees to ensure success.
• Evaluate quality, pricing, and service of supply base.
• Pursue annual cost-savings goals.
• Other duties as assigned.

Purchasing Manager - Must be located in the Arlington, TX area (Hybrid after training)

As a Purchasing Manager for (company) you will work with our Supply Chain management team to develop and execute actionable purchasing strategies. This includes utilizing our inventory management system to manage inventory levels, leading the buying team, developing and maintaining strategic supplier relationships and reaching departmental goals. The Purchasing Manager position reports to the Director of Purchasing and Supply Chain.

What you'll be doing:

• Lead Purchasing department personnel, overseeing the purchasing process.

• Monitor and control inventory levels and inventory turns to meet turn goals; utilization of inventory management metrics and ABC Classification.

• Establish a strong network and foster collaboration with internal customers.
• Establish measurable regional department goals, with supporting metrics.
• Analysis and reporting of cost trends and availability of materials with a full understanding of supply/demand challenges and the ability to leverage/navigate.
• Responsible for adequate inventory of all parts for customer satisfaction.
• Review and maintain ISO operational procedures for the purchasing area.
• Responsible for hiring new employees and ensuring training for success.
• Evaluation of quality, pricing and service of supply base.
• Responsible for annual cost-savings goals.
• Other duties as assigned.

What you need:

• Bachelor's degree (or pursuit of) in business-related field, preferably concentrating in Supply Chain or Purchasing.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel & Word, including ability to do VLOOKUPs in Excel.
• 5+ years of related experience in a buying/purchasing role, with previous management experience.
• Experience and understanding of inventory management practices, including ABC classification
• Ability to communicate effectively.
