Employment Type: Full-Time, Non-Union
Location: Bloomington, in-person
Compensation: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year

Summary
The Purchasing, Logistics, Warehouse Assistant is responsible for supporting the field, warehouse, and office operations. This position will partner with the Purchasing & Logistics Manager, Warehouse Lead, Industrial VP, CFO, Division Managers, Project Managers, Service Manager, Sales, and Field Operations to support needed functions to ensure proper and timely procurement and delivery of needed materials, equipment, and general supplies to field operations supporting timely work/project execution.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Research, communicate, execute, and follow-up with equipment and material supply vendors including placing orders, issuing purchase orders, follow-up on delivery schedules, and communicating with internal customers on expected arrival and pick-up dates.
- Generate and issue purchase order numbers to field and office employees using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. Enter complete and accurate information for the proper costing and job/work order (WO) affiliation.
- Enter and update inventory charge-outs in ERP system.
- Assist in inventory count/checks, placing orders, and issuing purchase orders for inventory replacement.
- Assist with unloading and checking in delivery drivers, inspecting freight for shortages/damages. Label and properly store shipments, along with preparing shipments to job sites ensuring all needed components are accounted for.
- Assist with vendor returns to include identifying, preparing, shipping, and entering of return information in ERP.
- Check-in/Check-out tools to/from jobsites and individuals utilizing Hilti On-Track program.
- Identify tool/lifts which need repair. Pull from availability and have repaired by outside vendors accordingly.
- Assist in pulling/staging outgoing tools/materials for jobsites.
- Assist in keeping the warehouse organized, clean, and safe.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Competencies & Skills
- Strong customer service acumen with heightened awareness of the need for urgent response times to support timely and efficient field operations.
- Knowledge of construction and service organization logistics and purchasing concepts.
- Must possess the following strengths: organized, effective at time management, high accuracy, detail oriented, sound judgment, and excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Developed interpersonal skills and ability to influence others positively. Ability to manage emotions effectively.
- Desire to support others and work as a team and independently.
- Position requires advanced English verbal and written skills to compose and proofread highly technical documents and correspond with staff and customers
- Ability to safely navigate a construction site and wear PPE.
- Ability to safely operate a forklift
- Construction/Industrial Tool Knowledge
- Solid math and analytical skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
Experience & Certifications
- One or more years’ experience in purchasing, logistics, or mechanical contractor materials related role.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Experience using ERP or purchasing/inventory related software, Outlook, Word, Excel, and general comfort level with digital processes.
- Mechanical Industry and Construction Industry experience and knowledge.
- Experience with Spectrum ERP or similar ERP knowledge and experience.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs.) and work in various physical positions (standing, bending, kneeling); sitting at a computer for an extended period of time.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to work/focus in cubicle and shop environments with moderate noise level.
