Job summary

Precision Components in Atlantic, IA, is looking for a Purchasing professional to source raw materials and MRO supplies, manage inventory, and issue purchase orders. You will track deliveries and forecast needs using system data, while building strong vendor relationships and controlling costs.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of purchasing experience, proficiency in MS Office, and ERP/MRP familiarity. UPS WorldShip experience is a plus in this manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 2+ years purchasing experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with ERP or MRP systems is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Source and procure all raw materials, MRO supplies, equipment, and services at the best cost/value.
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels using min/max inventory management and just-in-time purchasing strategies.
• Analyze system reports and inventory trends to forecast purchasing needs.
• Create, manage, track and receive purchase orders while maintaining accurate purchasing records.
• Monitor delivery schedules and proactively communicate delays or supply chain issues.
• Develop relationships with vendors and manage costs.
• Process small package shipments with UPS WorldShip software.Create Bills of Lading for LTL shipment and export documents as required.
