Job summary

IP Corporation is seeking a Purchasing Supervisor for MRO & Capital Projects in Vadnais Heights, MN, a hybrid role reporting to the Director of Purchasing & Transportation. You will lead a team of buyers, oversee MRO purchasing, and drive supplier performance to ensure uninterrupted production.

You will negotiate with suppliers, build a strong vendor network, and implement efficient purchasing practices across multiple sites, supporting operations and engineering teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of purchasing or procurement experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Prior supervisory or leadership experience.
• Strong understanding of MRO purchasing, negotiation, and supplier management.
• Experience with ERP systems and data analysis.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and shifting deadlines.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and support a team of buyers and coordinators, providing guidance and performance oversight.
• Oversee MRO purchasing, including maintenance parts, plant and engineering materials, operating supplies, utilities, and contracted services.
• Manage daily purchasing activities, including order placement, supplier communication, and delivery tracking, to keep materials available for production and operational needs.
• Coordinate with planning teams to monitor inventory levels and optimize stock.
• Lead sourcing initiatives, negotiations, and supplier performance management.
• Develop a preferred vendor pool with reliable alternatives, meet with key suppliers, and resolve issues as they arise.
• Maintain accurate purchasing data and ensure compliance with company policies.
• Improve purchasing processes and efficiency, partnering with Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Finance.
