Job summary

Staffmark Group in Broussard, LA is hiring a Purchasing and Procurement Specialist. The role leads daily purchasing for hospitality, resorts, and operations, supports new accounting system integration with MR/PO workflows, and negotiates terms with suppliers.

A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent procurement experience is preferred, with at least 3 years in procurement and ERP exposure. Office-based with monthly travel to Texas markets may be required.

Qualifications

• Equivalent experience in procurement, purchasing, or operations management will be considered.
• Strong understanding of purchasing processes, material requisitions, purchase orders, and vendor management.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily purchasing activities for hospitality, resort, and operational departments.
• Support the implementation and configuration of a new accounting system, including MR and PO workflows.
• Source, evaluate, and negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms with suppliers and service providers.
• Build and maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure quality, service, and cost efficiency.
• Partner with accounting teams to ensure proper GL coding, invoice approvals, and purchasing compliance.
• Monitor purchasing trends, identify cost-saving opportunities, and improve procurement processes.
• Assist with inventory management, supply planning, and supply chain coordination.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and project teams to support ongoing business needs and construction-related projects.
• Participate in meetings and contribute to strategic procurement initiatives.

Education Requirements

• Equivalent experience in procurement, purchasing, or operations management will be considered.
• Strong understanding of purchasing processes, material requisitions, purchase orders, and vendor management.

Experience Requirements

• Implementation of material requisitions and purchase orders as experience is HIGHLY Desired
• Construction purchasing experience is highly desirable.
• Minimum 3 years of progressive purchasing or procurement experience required.
• Experience managing operational procurement for hospitality, resort, property management, or similar industries strongly preferred.
• Hands-on experience with ERP, accounting, procurement, or inventory management software required.
• Experience implementing purchasing workflows, material requisition (MR) processes, and purchase order (PO) systems preferred.
• Knowledge of cost accounting, budgeting, invoice reconciliation, and three-way matching is a plus.

Physical Capabilities

• Ability to work in an office environment and travel monthly to Central Texas for site visits and inventory audits.
• Ability to sit, communicate effectively, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to review procurement data, contracts, and inventory records with a high level of accuracy.
