Job summary

OC Staffing and HR Solutions is seeking a Purchasing Coordinator in California to manage day-to-day purchasing and inventory, moving between the warehouse floor and office. The role handles ordering ingredients, tracking inventory, and leading receiving in early days with growing vendor relations and price negotiation responsibilities.

The position requires hands-on involvement, forklift operation training provided, and a proactive, organized approach to maintain accurate purchasing records.

Qualifications

• Experience in purchasing, inventory, receiving or warehouse work is a plus.
• Comfortable working on both production floor and office.
• Bilingual English/Spanish ideal for vendor and floor communication.

Responsibilities

• Place ingredient and packaging orders with vendors twice a week.
• Conduct a physical inventory count of products twice a week.
• Lead the receiving of incoming ingredient deliveries against purchase orders.
• Load outgoing pallet orders when customers come for pickup.
• Put away pallets and log activity in the container sheet.
• Log lot numbers and label incoming ingredients.
• Put away incoming ingredients with FIFO rotation.
• Operate a forklift to receive and stage shipments (training provided).
• Keep purchasing and inventory records accurate and up to date.
• Coordinate with production and QA to align orders with needs.
• Analyze purchasing prices and cost trends by ingredient and vendor.
• Grow into main point of contact for vendors and negotiate better terms.
