Job summary

BimmerWorld, located in southwestern Virginia near Blacksburg, is seeking a Purchasing Assistant to support sourcing goods, manage vendor relationships, and ensure timely product delivery. The role emphasizes accuracy, organization, and customer-focused service in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will handle purchase orders, process vendor communications, and assist in risk mitigation while contributing to overall purchasing efficiency.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with purchasing processes and supplier relations preferred.
• Professional phone etiquette and courteous customer interaction.
• Ability to self-manage tasks and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Submit, follow, and process purchase orders to completion with a high level of accuracy.
• Provide customer support to ensure timely product delivery.
• Resolve supplier errors and coordinate with vendors.
• Authorize payments for purchases as needed.
• Assess, manage and mitigate risks in purchasing activity.
• Maintain Purchase Order Report and Order Follow-Up Report.
• Enter purchase order tracking numbers and keep records updated.
• Create RMAs and process vendor returns.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Maintain regular and prompt attendance.
• Support purchasing goals and organizational tasks.
