Job summary

dfhextcareersite is seeking a Purchasing Manager in the United States (SC/MB area) to lead supplier selection, bid management, and cost-control efforts for multi-family projects. The role requires strong estimation, vendor negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration with construction teams.

The successful candidate will manage bid packages, maintain budgets, and drive workflows that improve efficiency across purchasing, construction, and sales teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a business-related field.
• Seven (7) years minimum experience as purchasing manager or agent.
• High degree of construction knowledge including multi-family.
• Exceptional communication skills — both written and verbal.
• Comfortable presenting ideas and solutions to leadership and key business partners.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to multi-task while meeting deadlines.
• Strong organizational skills and time management skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships.
• Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Assist in product development and cost analysis for floor plans and new communities.
• Prepare and review performas and cost specifications for projects.
• Coordinate with architects, consultants and engineers regarding plan status and changes.
• Compile bid packages and bid out on-sites and exterior work with trade partners.
• Negotiate contracts with trade partners and approve extras.
• Orient sales personnel on project specifications, options, and materials.
• Update budgets monthly and implement workflows to improve efficiency between construction and purchasing.
