Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics is seeking a Purchasing Coordinator to manage purchase orders, coordinate requisitions, and liaise with vendors. The role includes maintaining procurement records and inventory in a laboratory setting, with emphasis on accuracy and timely fulfillment.

Qualifications

  • 0–2 years of experience; related degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of GxPs, SOPs, and pertinent guidelines; supply chain and inventory management principles.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and procurement programs.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills; attention to detail; ability to multitask; accurate/precise data entry; proficient computer skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret general business documents; write routine reports and correspondence; communicate basic concepts.
  • Ability to perform computations (percentages, ratios, rates).
  • Ability to solve practical problems through standardized solutions requiring limited judgment; follow prescribed/detailed procedures.
  • Proficiency in speaking, comprehending, reading, and writing English.

Purchasing Coordinator
Key responsibilities:
  • Process purchase orders and track deliveries to ensure timely fulfillment of supply needs.
  • Coordinate directly with purchase requisitioners to confirm specifications, quantities, and delivery timelines.

Minimum qualifications:
  • 0-2 years of experience; bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or related field preferred (equivalent experience/education considered).
  • Knowledge of GxPs, Standard Operating Procedures, and pertinent Guidelines; supply chain and inventory management principles.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and procurement programs.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills; attention to detail; ability to multitask; accurate/precise data entry; proficient computer skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret general business documents; write routine reports and correspondence; communicate basic concepts.
  • Ability to perform computations (percentages, ratios, rates).
  • Ability to solve practical problems through standardized solutions requiring limited judgment; follow prescribed/detailed procedures.
  • Work involves sitting at a desk/table with intermittent standing/walking/stooping; may require bending, kneeling, climbing steps, and occasional use of arms/hands; sedentary lifting; regular talking/hearing.
  • Normal office setting with occasional time in the laboratory; specific vision abilities required.
  • Proficiency in speaking, comprehending, reading, and writing English.

Salary range: $37,000 - $80,000.
