Job summary

Apex Mechanical is seeking a Purchasing / Inventory Coordinator in Sedalia, MO to support our HVAC service and installation teams by managing materials, tracking inventory, and coordinating with vendors. This hands-on role helps ensure daily operations run smoothly by sourcing parts, monitoring stock levels, maintaining accurate records, and communicating lead times, pricing, and delivery updates.

Qualifications

• Experience in purchasing, procurement, inventory control, or supply chain.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to stay organized in a fast-paced setting.
• Confident communication skills-phone, email, and in-person
• Comfortable working cross-functionally with vendors and internal teams.
• Solid computer skills and ability to learn systems quickly.
• Self-starter mindset with the ability to prioritize effectively.
• Bonus if you've worked in HVAC, construction, manufacturing, distribution, automotive, or industrial environments (not required)

Responsibilities

• Source and order parts, equipment, and materials for service and install jobs
• Coordinate job-specific material needs with internal teams
• Monitor inventory levels and maintain accurate records
• Track usage patterns and flag overstock or slow-moving items
• Communicate with vendors on pricing, lead times, and delivery updates
• Step in to assist with dispatch coverage when needed (we'll train you)
• Support general operations with administrative coordination tasks
