Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in Purchasing, Sales, Quality Control, or Engineering.
  • Project management experience.
  • Strong time-management skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of supply chain management.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate based on logic.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage costs.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage customer and supplier relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and present clear, concise proposals.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications and email.
  • Strong cost-analysis skills.

Responsibilities

  • Research, evaluate, and purchase automotive components for each new model trial event.
  • Correlate and select suppliers to ensure stable quality, competitive cost, and on-time delivery.
  • Maintain excellent communication with suppliers regarding design changes for trial and mass-production products.
  • Issue supplier documents, including contracts, agreements, forecasts, RFQs, Maker Layout Letters, and other documentation.
  • Develop, gain approval for, and execute purchasing strategies for assigned commodities and suppliers.
  • Achieve new-model and mass-production cost targets through effective supplier selection and negotiation.
  • Maintain effective supplier relationship management.
  • Maintain supplier documentation through Q-Pulse.
  • Communicate with suppliers regarding RFQs, event orders, pricing, and terms.
  • Issue expense purchase orders.
  • Develop products with suppliers through the new-model event process.
